Effect of fluoroquinolones on the cardiovascular system of laboratory rabbits

Introduction . The use of fluoroquinolones is associated with prolongation the QT interval on cardiogram and increased risk ventricular tachycardia. To study mechanism cardiotoxic effect to develop methods its prevention it necessary create models laboratory animals. aim work was analyze electrocardiographic parameters rabbits. Materials 20 rabbits were divided into 3 groups: 6 animals control, 7 received ciprofloxacin 150 mg/kg for 14 days orally, levofloxacin orally. Electrocardiography performed before after drug exposure. P wave width, PQ interval, QRS complex, corrected (QTc), RR analyzed. Data are presented as median interquartile range.
